2009 Street Smarts Storybook Poster Contest

The 5th Annual Street Smarts Storybook Poster Contest drew over 300 entries from elementary school students in the San Ramon Valley. This was the second year the Street Smarts Program incorporated the storybook concept into the poster contest. This year's storybook focused on bicycling safety.

The winning artwork from the 2009 contest were featured in the storybook "Captain Foghorn's Treasure Hunt" written by local storybook author Dana Mentink. The storybooks were distributed at the Street Smarts Storybook Poster Contest Awards Ceremony, held on March 5, 2009 at the Dougherty Valley Performing Arts Center, where over 500 community members participated. Mark Curtis emceed the event.
